"Glory is good, but gold is great."
"Have you never heard of me? That's good, actually."
"I am just a weary harmless traveler.
Unless you're paying, then I am anything but."

Theme
Saladrin Thorne
Pistolero Gunslinger (level 7)
Created May 19th, 2017
~Character Sheet~
Saladrin's father used to say he was born as his ship cruised through the eye of Abendego.
What is certain is that he spent most of his youth in Drenchport, the northernmost part of the Shackles region, and closest to the ever-raging maelstrom.
At the age of twelve, he managed to convince his father, Kedran, to let him join his crew on the Wild Dancer.
As the years passed, his father became more reckless and hungry for glory. Sailing past the Inner Sea and the Obari Ocean, the Captain's pride eventually caused the ship's wreckage.
He and Kedran managed to escape from the crew's vengeance and wandered around the landmass. In time they discovered to be on the continent of Tian Xia.
His father passed away from pneumonia a year later. Saladrin held on to his coat and compass, alongside his mother's now-broken music box. He hopes to fix it some day like he had done with his trusty pistol.
After four years of odd jobs and wandering from town to town, a now short on coin Sal has heard that Hiyro might pose promise of prosperity.
Maybe this was the chance he was waiting for, to get enough gold for a ship and a crew.
To return to The Shackles not a simple man, but a Captain.
OOC:
As my first character in this game, and in general within the Tian Xia region, I thought it would be nice to fit in an outsider role, trying to learn the culture's details and make a place for oneself. Even as Saladrin tries to live up to his (pirate) father's name and gain enough influence and money, ironically he will tend to get jobs that might pay up well due to the risk of death or harm, rather than ones that could break the law. Considering that as he is an outsider, he thinks it might end up in the worst kinds of punishment.
And he is also a magpie for trinkets, as you may notice.
