Bio:
My Tian-Min mother raised me on tales from her homeland. Tales about honorable and noble warriors and tales about great and powerful dragons. However, I grew up in my noble father's homeland of Cheliax. A land of political machinations and insidious devils.
My mother journeyed to Avistan seeking glory and adventure but found only her own enslavement. While traveling my father came upon this 'foreign' beauty and purchased her to serve as his mistress. I was born a year later. As my father's only son at the time I was trained and educated as a potential successor, learning from my father the art of scheming. This lasted until his first wife gave birth to a son. Father soon turned his back on me as nothing more than his bastard and it grew apparent that my little brother was a disappointment and by far less capable than I. Even though I was no longer my father's heir, I still stuck around as I was fond of my little brother and tried to protect him from my father's ever-growing temper and alcoholism.
My father's first wife died from natural causes and by natural I mean beaten to death by a drunken brute. I wasn't fond of my first stepmother but at the very least she treated me with civility. His second wife represented the worst of what Cheliax had to offer. She felt that my father lacked ambition and pushed my father needed to be more proactive. Father's second wife hated me for she knew that father preferred my mother and stepmothers. I made sure to avoid her as often as I could. I spent most of my time with my paternal grandfather, a retired Cheliaxian hero and the only person on my father's side that was fond of me. From him I learned combat, tactics, and strategy. From him I learned about the more positive aspects of a Cheliaxian. I learned about honor and ambition, values that matched up with my mother's stories. When my grandfather died he bequeathed his bastard sword to me. Out of jealousy my father confiscated the sword and had it placed above his chair. After this I spent most of my time in the streets of Westcrown. There I founded a gang with other other 'noble' bastards. I practiced what I learned about tactics and strategy and managed to expand the gang's power, coming to rival true gangs. Eventually we quarreled with a more established gang and they bribed the guard to take us down. We were disbanded soon after.
My mother soon died from a poisoning by my jealous stepmother. Without proof I was unable to act against my stepmother, not that my father would have cared either way. Over the years he had grown proud and cruel and disdainful of his own true-born son. My stepmother gave birth to her own son and I realized that it spelled disaster for my little brother. I had to act quickly and began to plan. I was not quick enough to save my brother as he had already been poisoned. I could do nothing as he died a slow and agonized death. With my mother, grandfather, and brother gone I no longer had anything tying me to my father.
I was soon approached by one of my father's rivals and asked to help him dispose of my father. The plan was simple, all I needed to do was leave the door unlocked to let his assassins in. I agreed on the conditions that I receive my grandfather's sword and passage to Tian Xia. Also my father and stepmother would die by my own hands. My father knew of the scheme, but not my part in it, and had hired mercenaries in preparation. In the chaos I sneaked to my stepmother's bedchamber where she hid with her son. She thought I was there to protect her. I proved her wrong when I beheaded her with grandfather's sword. In the process she dropped her son, whom died when he hit the ground. At first I smiled cruelly, as the devil-spawn was dead. Soon though I grew guilty as it wasn't truly his fault. I realized that the blood of an innocent on your hands is not a good feeling. The honorable heroes from mother's stories would never allow and infant to die and starting now, neither would I. However, I still had one task to complete and I sought my father. The battle had flowed onto the upper floors and my father struggled to defend himself against an assassin. He never saw me coming. With my father dead his rival held up his side of the bargain and paid for my passage. I left the land of my father, planning to emulate my grandfather and my mother's heroes.

OOC:
When creating myself I asked how to make an evil character that wasn't a giggling maniac. I was inspired by villains such as David Xanatos from Gargoyles and wanted to make a complex villain, someone with a semblance of honor that worked for their personal gain. I decided on a character that doesn't do evil for the sake of evil, but only stoops to evil when he needs to and is otherwise indistinguishable from any other adventurer. He will save a damsel in distress, but not for her sake, but for the reward or other opportunities this would open. I chose an Exemplar Brawler because I wanted a character that was flexible in combat and could adapt to the situation. I chose knowledge and social skills because I wanted a character that was intelligent and able to manipulate others. Finally I chose a large bastard sword because it seemed cool.
