Hello friends whom I haven't had the chance to meet or interact with! I thought I'd pop in and splat down a few suggestions to make things run a bit smoother based on the lack of structured info available to me, and what I more or less had to probe other people for information-wise. Nothing disparaging, but just a few things that seem to be in the best interest for things to feel less like trying to chew a brick in some instances!
1.) A forum post that has the template for the characters on the forum in a copy-paste format.
I understand for the first character it's actually quite important to follow-through with the listed directions. It gives a nice breakdown of the how's and why's of a few of the board and the groups mentality and overall composition and what is expected from the player. Great job on that. The issue I feel is that there's not perhaps a post squirreled away somewhere that simply has a template for people who already have existing characters to be able to copy paste easily. I know it took me around 2 hours to actually copy all my info down, and I can usually crank out a Pathfinder character in about an hour. I'd honestly dread make any more characters and having to repeat the process as a whole!
2.) We need a consolidated forum post for how the heck Exp, downtime, and crafting work.
It took me awhile, and I had to ask a few folks, but I finally tracked down the dang exp, downtime, and crafting rules for the game! My question/suggestion here is why isn't there a separate post for people just entering the game to read that clearly denotes its purpose? IMO it'd be a lot easier to have a post or 3 that denotes the different rules of how downtime works, how exp is calculated and tracked, and how crafting works in the game so everyone can be on the same page, and us new guys don't look around going "Exp for level 1? Dafuq?".
3.) Not so much a suggestion as a noted inconsistency, but why do you list 20 pt races being acceptable, then detail the actual races allowed? Are players allowed to actually build their own races, or is it more an antiquated thing that didn't get edited out?
4.) Out of curiosity why do you ask the players to create a forum page and a separate character sheet to keep the character info on? I literally copied down all of my information twice. I imagine the forum post is taken to be the more official of the two, so why require both? Just an oddity to me.
