August 25th, 2017
~Character Sheet~
Bio
Born in Hongal, Ma Jian was brought up riding horses and learning the art of the bow like most Tian-La were. His father, Wuhang, was the undisputed leader of a powerful tribe of nomads in Mongal and held a great personal loyalty to the current Khan, because of a sworn brotherhood from when they were children. Wuhang was a great archer, horse rider, leader, and father. Ma was the second-born son of the family and while he showed a better ability as a warrior, his older brother Langyu was a far better leader of men. Despite what could have led to a sordid tale of jealousy and betrayal, the two brothers got on famously and had no ill will towards the other, because Ma never wanted to take over their father's tribe. No instead he earnestly desired to go out into the world and earn his own place amongst the legends and heroes of old. On his eighteenth birthday, the eager adventurer said farewell to his parents and several siblings before setting off on his own path. Several years later, a jaded and battle-worn Ma Jian would walk through the gates of Tiancheng, searching for something to give him purpose again.
