Movath Hin Magus (Fiend Flayer) 1 September 11, 2017
Roll20 Token Movath was born to a whore in a back alley and left for dead as a squalling infant wrapped in a dirty, blood-soaked cloth. Luckily for her, she was found by a half-orc not an hour later. Taking pity on the child not given a chance to even attempt a mark on the world, Craach Hin took the bundle and returned to his home, a warehouse near the docks that he shared with his compatriots, members of the gang known as Craach's Toughs.
Craach and his boys named the child Vaskuk Hin, a name shared by Craach's mother, and raised her as their own. She learned how to fight and survive on the streets, how to steal from those around her, all the skills that would make her a useful part of the gang.
And then, during her 60th year, things went to shit. Vaskuk was out on a job, getting insurance money from a few shop keepers, when a rival gang struck and wiped out her entire family. When she returned, her rage was so great that she took up her father's greatsword and attempted to take her revenge on the other gang.
This ended poorly, and Vaskuk was captured and sold to the Men of Limbo, a gang that specialized in sexual slave trade. She was kept by them for two years as they attempted to break her will enough to sell. They almost succeeded, save for one thing...
A man, tall and beautiful in appearance, with ragged red and black wings, appeared to Vaskuk in her cell one evening, and made an offer to the pitiful creature he saw before him. He would give her the strength to escape, but she must swear her service to Dark Prince Asmodeus, the God-Fiend. And so she did, and the deal was sealed with her blood.
Vaskuk became a whirling dervish of magic and death, slaughtering all those who stood between her and freedom, and wandered the streets after for several hours, coated in blood and holding a pair of sickles, dripping with blood.
She was arrested, but the deaths of the Men of Limbo were ruled as Self-Defense, and even a boon to the city by some, and she was released from custody.
Changing her name to Movath, in honor of Asmodeus and her Tiefling heritage, she took up the sword and (probably after several years of therapy) became a warrior in the battle against chaos as a traveling swordswoman.
OOC
The price Movath paid was not just her eternal servitude to Asmodeus, but that she now hosts something... Alien. A sleeping devil resides in her now, awaiting the order from Asmodeus to awaken and guide Movath on her path. (Emphasis on guide. The devil is not there to control Movath.)
The story of the Tiefling who single-handedly ended a slaver ring in Lanming has spread throughout Quain with varying levels of truth. Movath does nothing to encourage these stories, but also does not quash them.
After her time with the Men of Limbo, Movath now has a crippling phobia involving being touched. Touching causes her to freak out for a moment, and full on grabbing will cause her to completely freeze up.
She has been in Liángshí for the past several years.
Her code of ethics is as follows: 1. Protect the innocent. 2. Keep order wherever you are. 3. Defend those who defend you. 4. No sentient being is lesser or greater than any other.
